Howdy ...

I'm keith ... This is my domain and webspace ... at some point I plan on putting a full biography and life's story here, but for the time being, you can get a quick synopsis of me ... My Blog at KeithHatfield.com will tell more about me than you can learn here ... it is my forum for expressing all that is on my mind ... If you want to know why my domain is called dleiftah just Look Below! ... Anyway ... on the the blrub about me ...

I grew up on the West Side of Indianapolis, IN in a little town called Brownsburg ... I now live in Pensacola, FL and really enjoy the fact that there is no snow! I spend quite a bit of time on computers. My father is the best programmer I know and taught me about computers from the time I could walk. In 1998 and 1999 I worked for a company as part of their Year 2000 Team upgrading their mainframe computer systems. In that time I single-handedly upgraded their MRP operating system through four versions and wrote many utilities and programs for their systems. Most of the work was done in FORTRAN/66 with some COBOL and PROTOS. I am fluent in many programming languages including those mentioned above plus C/C++, Perl, Visual Basic, and Java. I am always trying to learn new languages and keep myself knowledgeable in computer news. I am currently learning PHP for web scripting and have nearly mastered the CSS standard for designing pages.

A few years ago, I met the most amazing person I've ever known, Miss Janey Morey. She and I quickly became friends and that developed into so much more. Now we are going to be getting married on August 26, 2006. To find out more about our wedding and plans, visit www.Keith-N-Janey.com. Janey and I are both involved in our local church Marcus Pointe Baptist. If you are looking for a good Bible believing church in the Pensacola, FL area, please check it out. You won't be disappointed.

I'm currently working in the technology field for a company called Gulfwave Netoworks. My title is Executive Administrator, but that just means that I have to do a little bit of everything. I do some managing, some planning, and a good bit of PHP coding.

dleiftah???

Yes, dleiftah. Why, you ask ... well, I knew I had to find a good domain, one that I could work with and is meaningful. So I decided upon dleiftah. dleiftah is a word derived from the word 'delijofta' in the native Kickapoo Indian tribes. Delijofta was a word used to describe 'one who exudes logic' or 'a logical design and working.' The Indians highly regarded logical thinking and exalted those to whom they gave the title Delijofta. The Kickapoo are very industrious people and have a logical thinking in all they do. This enabled them to easily adapt as they moved from their native land in the Great Lakes area to Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas. Being a woodland people, the climate and land in Texas was much different from the land and climate in central and southern Wisconsin.

Now, the actual word dleiftah will not be found in many dictionaries, because a standard pronunciation could not be decided upon. The odd combination of the 'dl' being left together at the beginning followed by the 'ei' combination make for an interesting sound. The most standard pronunciation I could find has the 'd' at the beginning tapped and barely sounded and the primary emphasis on the 'leif' section (pronounced leaf) and a 'tah' at the end (pronounced just like it looks). The original Kickapoo language is an Algonquian language closely related to Mesquakie-Sauk. It is a tone language, meaning the pitch of the vowel can change the meaning of a word completely. As far as I can tell, the 'ijof' in the original word (the 'j' is pronounced as it would be in Spanish with a rasping 'h') is the most dominant syllable and the pitch went down emphasizing the importance of the person or design being described. So, when I pronounce the English word, I always drop my pitch and emphasize the 'eif' section, making it sound very dominant and strong.

I chose the name because I have always been described as a logical person and try to develop that quality in myself. My father is the most logical person I know, and taught me to think and reason logically from a very young age. As far as I know, we have no Kickapoo blood in us, but I feel a kinship with their logical lifestyle and high regard for logic. Web Design and Computer programming both require logic in a number of areas, so, I thought Dleiftah was only fitting. If I find anymore information that I think is relevant to the subject, I'll be sure to post it here

Thanx,

Now, For The Truth ...

Yeah, all of that is a lie ... but I thought it was a pretty good one. dleiftah is actually my last name, hatfield, spelled backwards. I hope you fell for it ...
